Do you ever have those days where you think it's a day different than it is? What to Wear When it's Summer Weather in the Winter

Happy Washington's Birthday,  National Margarita Day and Full Moon!  Who knew February 22 was such a party day? LOL  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Ours was busy but good. Quality time with loved ones always makes the days good, regardless of the activities.  For some reason my son woke up at 5:45a on Saturday morning (then slept in until 6:45 today, go figure) so my weekend started early.  We got out of the house early to get the car washed (our car came with free car washes for life when we bought it a little over a year ago) only to find out that the dealer has cancelled that perk due to the California drought.

When I was a kid, the channel AMC (now home to original programming like "The Walking Dead") was known for playing classic oldie movies (after all, "AMC" stands for American Movie Classics). Being the cinema lover that I was, I loved watching the old Katherine Hepburn and Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara films.  There's just something about those Hollywood golden years, and the beautiful, feminine style of the 40's and 50's.  I always loved the women in their dresses (although I didn't envy the girdles you know they were wearing underneath to get their trim little waists.)

So here we are, the first week of the new year.  I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year's celebration this past weekend.  We were low key: had my sister-in-law and niece over on NYE, ordered some BBQ (and I made a from-scratch blueberry cobbler for dessert, which was mighty tasty, if I do say so myself), the kiddos played til their bedtime, then we adults watched a movie ("Antman", if you were curious. Wasn't bad, actually. I mean, it's a Marvel comic character, you can't expect serious art.)  We made it to midnight to ring in the new year, but I have to confess we were already in bed, and had the lights off by 12:01 am. ;)

Are you still recovering from your food coma from yesterday?  Or do you consider Thanksgiving meal just fuel for Black Friday shopping? ;)  I confess I've never been much of a big Black Friday shopper - mostly I think because the Friday after Thanksgiving I'm still pretending like it's Thanksgiving and not looking towards the next holiday yet. It's still November. Christmas is like a month away!  So I'm sorry to say you won't find any Black Friday deal promotions on my site here today, but I'm sure you will have no shortage.
