Wednesday Wishlist - Nordstrom Fall Beauty
/[Nordstrom Beauty - Fall Skincare - Cosmetics]
Like many women I know, I enjoy beauty and skincare products. I told my husband (back when he was just my boyfriend) that I wouldn't be one of those girls/women that had a million products, but its a good thing I didn't put that in my wedding vows, because I lied. Not intentionally, but as I've gotten older I'm always on the search for the best thing to keep my skin looking it's best as age and hormones cause my skin issues to change.
I was fortunate to recently be invited to Nordstrom Santa Monica for a private preview of some of the new products for fall, as well as some of their best sellers. It is Fall Beauty Week at Nordstroms right now, and they are having various sales and promotions (free facials, buy 2 get one free mascaras, etc.) - you should stop by your local Nordys and check them out. I confess to not usually buying my beauty products from Nordstrom (I'm usually a Sephora/Amazon/drugstore person) but they have a really knowledgeable beauty department staff, and some really great services (this is probably not news to anyone else, but it was to me.) You can go to Nordstrom.com and select your location and make appointments for various beauty department services. Many locations even have private facials rooms, like a little spa. Kinda luxurious.
Here are a few of the products I learned about recently that I'm totally in love with (after some sampling) and are now on my wish list.
I was introduced to a new brand (new to me) called Arcona. They originated in a spa in Los Angeles, and have recently started being carried by some mass retailers, Nordstrom being one of them. Their products are organic, and specially formulated with ingredients specifically designed to work together in their most efficient way. I was able to sample several of their products, and I noticed improvements after the first use, no joke.
The Solution Treatment is used before bedtime. It resurfaces and regenerates your skin and repairs sun damage as you sleep, and reverses signs of photo-aging, smooth fine lines and clear acne-prone skin with amino sugars and glycoproteins.
Then wake in the morning and apply the Cranberry Gommage in the shower. Not only does it smell amazing, but your skin has never felt so soft before. The purifying exfoliant cleanses, tones and decongests enlarged pores, leaving skin clearer, smoother and more refined. Seriously, my skin felt glowy after I got out of the shower the first morning.
They also have these convenient Cranberry toner pads that cleanse, tone and hydrate, infusing skin with protective antioxidants to leave it glowing and refreshed. I used them after my regular wash, before the Solution Treatment, and I could tell they were still lifting some grime. Another smell good product.
Yves Saint Laurent has a new lip gloss out (the glossy look is coming back, ladies!) that smells amazing (like mango, or some fruit like that). It is non-sticky (a plus for me, my hubby doesn't like to kiss sticky gloss lips), a is very moisturizing. Can be worn alone or over your favorite lip colors.
I've been really happy with the Lancome Mascara base and the Lancome Defincils Mascara. The base enhances and nourishes your lashes before you apply the mascara, and this mascara lengthens and separates, for an enhanced natural look. And I wore it all day around the zoo earlier this week, and had no flaking or smudging. Win.
The item I was most exited about was the foundation. I've been on the hunt for a new foundation - hoping there was some amazing product out there that I didn't know about that would make my skin look as fabulous as it did when I was 20. I was introduced to Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation, and I am so thrilled. I've been using my sample for the last couple days and I've been so happy with how it has looked from the morning until the end of the day. The formula is amazingly light - it goes on like air, seriously. I can't barely feel that I'm putting anything on, yet it provides legitimate coverage. It's like my own skin, but better. I have to admit it is pricier than I've ever spent on a makeup product, but it is so worth it to me.
I hope you have a chance to stop in to Nordstrom this week and check out some of their products and deals, and hopefully pick up a goodie or two for yourself. Or, the holidays are coming up, you can be a more proactive person than me and get some gifts taken care of as well. ;)
