The holidays are approaching, and that probably means increased social engagements for most of us. I always like getting dressed up for the holidays - holiday parties always seem to me a bit dressier than the rest of the year (why is that?) and it's fun to put on the those statement outfits I really don't have occasion to wear the rest of the year.
Another way to make a statement with your look is to play up your facial features, particularly your eyes. One way to really enhance your whole look with minimal effort is with false eyelashes. And this is where I would like to introduce you to a fabulous new brand, Battington Lashes. They have created a brand new type of false lashes that I predict now everyone will be wearing on the red carpets this coming awards season (and you can say you knew about it first. ;) )
Battington Lashes are like none other out there. Most are made of either synthetic materials (and leave much to be desired in terms of comfort and natural appearance) or are (inhumanely) made of mink. Battington has solved both problems by creating a line that is handmade of 100% silk. And not to worry that silk might be more delicate or not last as long: on the contrary, they are washable and reusable up to 25 times!
The company was started by two smart, beautiful women (full disclosure: one is a very good friend and I could not be more excited for her and this line) who are regular users of false lashes, and were just unsatisfied with the options. And this, my friends, is how great products are born. :) And in addition to be a worth while investment in your own makeup bag, a percentage of all sales goes to the Global Fund for Women, which helps fund woman's human rights initiatives. Women giving back and supporting other women.
The lashes come in 2 types (3 styles of each): silk lashes, and 3D lashes. The Monroe style shown up top is a 3D style, which gives you extra fullness. The Hepburn shown directly above is a silk style, which is the more traditional lash strip and a bit more subtle for everyday wear. Both styles are equally light and comfortable. My husband approved. ;)
